A doctor I was training under in Medical school had me present on Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. That’s where an infection damages the small blood vessels in your kidney and prevents it from doing what it does best. The syndrome is sometimes acquired by eating undercooked meat. I took the meat part and ran with it. I painted this and gave it to my preceptor so he had something to look at while I spoke. That’s all. That's the story, but this burger has carried me far in life. It was the backdrop during my interviews for residency and I got to explain the story behind it while diving in to my passion for the arts. Pure genius.
